+ + + Proportion | Graphic Birdwatching Brief + + +

Hello hello! It's been a while... er, a looong while, apologies for my absence Internet, I will do better. I promise. Anyway! Here are some details of the finished design and early sketches for  a piece I just finished on the theme of Proportion for the Graphic Birdwatching Graphic Design Walk & Exhibition (September 21-22) as part of the London Design Festival 2012. It's at the printers today, and will soon be winging its fragile way to meet the other birdies at the exhibition.

+++ACID+++

And I'm back with me pencil in hand! Here's a quick doodle I did for a joint project with a friend. More to come, hopefully. =)

Rationalism: koala // ❡ SketchSnippet#22 Playing on my new blackboard wall... (essentially just 'the wall I painted black the other day')...

After a few hours reading about Cartesian linguistics, oddly enough, while sitting beside my 'eating panda'-patterned jammies, I decided to doodle on the new wall, hence the strange subject matter =) Excuse the poor image quality, these are photobooth snaps at night time in my poorly lit room =) When I get a little more confident with chalk, the photography will magically get more precise =)

Oblivion // ❡ SketchSnippet#21

Having finally extricated myself and loved ones from the crazy apocalyptic silliness that accompanies any semblance of snow in these here islands, and managed to make it back from my graduation in Reading on Friday, by train and then ferry. I thought I'd digitise some of the sketches I made over the weekend of long thumbtwiddling in airports, trains, planes, tubes, and ferry and also have a very quick play with illustrator cs5's stroke width tool. I've been meaning to have a looksee at this for a while now, ever since I saw Jessica Hische's screencast on the tool which got me curious in the first place... and yup. I'm totally hooked. So, first off, Oblivion! Yes, it was a fun weekend. I hope everyone else made it home from the graduation for Christmas, and that anyone else stuck in England or Ireland is doing ok in all the kerfuffle. Fingers crossed it all eases up a little before the mass migration for food inhalation and gift-giving of 25th.

omg. i love illustrator cs5 from Jessica Hische on Vimeo.

O'Donovan's

Terrible quality as with all these phone camera shots, but lovely signage, such chubby little 4's!
